The Indianapolis Bar Association offers a variety of legal advice programs. These programs may be helpful to you if you have a simple legal question for an attorney, or if you need feedback from an attorney on how to proceed with your legal issue. These programs do not offer representation. To find an attorney, complete the referral process on this site or call 317-269-2222 to receive a referral.
Legal Line of 2021 will be held on the second Tuesday of each month from 6 to 8 p.m. (Eastern Time). Just call (317) 269-2000. Lawyers answering Legal Line calls work in law firms, agencies and organizations throughout the city and donate their time in order to provide this valuable community service. They'll be prepared to provide assistance with questions on topics like divorce, child custody, support, and parenting time, criminal, landlord/tenant issues, bankruptcy, personal injury, employment law and more. All calls are confidential.
Virtual Ask a Lawyer
Chat in real time with an attorney who is prepared to assist with basic legal questions.
The chat service is manned during daytime hours. During other times or in the event that an attorney isn’t available, you can provide your email address for follow up by an attorney within 12 to 24 hours. To begin the chat, simply visit indybar.org/chat. Once on the page, a pop-up in the lower right hand corner of the browser window will guide the user through the interaction.
